The Council on Library and Information Resources Grant

The Pennhurst Memorial & Preservation Alliance is pleased to announce that we have received funding from the Council on Library and Information Resources through the Digitizing Hidden Collections grant. Over the next two years, our project “Who’s In Control?”: An Archive of Self-Determination, Disability Justice, and Deinstitutionalization will digitize and make accessible stories of the self-advocacy movement from our collections at the PMPA Community Archives. We have received a generous award of $242,505 to bring our vision of an accessible online repository to life. This project is made possible by the enduring strength of the self-advocates who fought for their rights to live in the community. We are eager to begin work on such an impactful project.
